UNI Coins in Action - North Vancouver

Cove Cliff Elementary

The Cove Cliff Elementary school began their three kind acts by collecting food for the needy. Students and staff emptied their cupboards and all of the food that had been collected was lined on benches. On October 11 2002, Jolie Lambkin was present to accept the food on behalf of the Harvest Project where Michelle & Oliver presented the "UNI" to her. The Harvest Project is an organization that helps needy people.
Cove Cliff is proud of its students and teachers!

Gift Boxes in
Mr. Reid's Class

In Mr. Reid's grade 5/6 class, the students created "Gift Boxes" which contained at least 14 heart-shaped cards upon which was written an act of generosity to family, friends, or the environment. During each day of the holidays, the students would ask a family member to draw one heart out of the box, and they would then perform that kind act. What a thoughtful idea!

Choosing the Right Gift for a Good Cause

In addition, the Student Leadership Team, sponsored by Ms. Rolandi, Mrs. Sterling and Mrs. Hoath, ran an event that was most successful in fundraising for a worthy cause. During the last week before the Christmas Break, primary students purchased items that had been generously donated by the school community (for the great price of $1.00). These "gifts" for friends and family were then gift-wrapped by the Student Leaders. All money raised was donated to a Kiwanis Senior Care Home. This was truly a great way of "recycling" treasures, helping our environment, and extending kindness out into our community. Great job!
