THE COIN THAT TRAVELED THE LONGEST DISTANCE IN ANY ONE PASS: UNI # 018 |

The Pass:
UNI coin # 018 traveled from Shawnigan Lake School, in the tiny hamlet of Shawnigan Lake, on Vancouver Island, British Columbia to Azabu High School in Tokyo.
The Act of Kindness:
Free On-Line Tutorial Services in English! Students at Shawnigan Lake are offering Azabu High School an e-pal relationship, with the goal of helping the Japanese teens practice their English skills with real-life native speakers. |
We also wish to acknowledge Harry Sayers Elementary in Abbotsford for coming very close in total distance with their coin pass to Norbury School in England.
THE COIN THAT CREATED THE GREATEST POSITIVE SPLASH: UNI #034 |
 Watson Elementary students are thrilled to find out that their school won the award for the coin that created the greatest positive splash. |
The Splash: UNI #034 belonging to Watson Elementary in Chilliwack:
- Passed hands from class to class and then spread its acts into the community touching hearts in Chilliwack, Abbotsford and Surrey through over 20 passes.
- Made the front page of the Chilliwack Progress with a full colour picture of students spreading the spirit of kindness
- Inspired Star FM to pre-register for the next Coin-spiracy
- Collected 1402 items for the foodbank
- Recycled 9127 pounds of goods

THE COIN THAT HAD THE MOST PASSES: UNI # 025 |

The Passes:
UNI # 025, belonging to Champlain Heights Community School, passed hands 25 times. Acts ranged from creating kindness jars filled with words of appreciation to making posters for the Humane Society of Canada and raising enough money to adopt two acres in the Columbia rainforest. Champlain Heights also produced a musical play that focused on the issue of self-esteem where students explored various themes such as friendships, active and healthy living, peace, tolerance, acceptance, respect, and responsibility. |
EDUCATION AND OUTREACH: |
While we had not originally anticipated this award category, we felt that we wanted to acknowledge all the work and energy that has been invested in raising awareness and educating people on the value of kindness as an antidote to violence.
